He Will Come Through

Ecclesiastes 9:11 “I returned and saw under the sun that – The race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to men of understanding, nor favour to men of skill; But time and chance happen to them all.” Have you ever felt like the…

Ecclesiastes 9:11 “I returned and saw under the sun that – The race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to men of understanding, nor favour to men of skill; But time and chance happen to them all.”

Have you ever felt like the Lord has forgotten about you? Like He has put you at the back of His mind? I know I have.

There have been times in my life where I have prayed really hard (in my understanding) for something and felt as though I was forsaken. At some point last year, I received a job offer after waiting and praying so long. It felt like the Lord had finally remembered me.

To make a long story short, I ended up not taking the job because it required me to break a commitment I had made to the Lord. For it being something I desperately wanted, it surprisingly was not a hard choice to make. He will give you the strength to do hard things if you put your trust in Him.

The point here is that the Lord has a plan that He has laid out for you and me. It may not always feel that way, but you can take it to the bank.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 NIV

“Of course, it is easy to trust God when the bush is burning, the waters are parting, and the mountains are shaking – it’s those silent years that are discouraging. But blessed is the person who does not interpret the silence of God as the indifference of God!” – Erwin Lutzer, Getting Closer to God

We are made to wait in order to teach us patience in the Lord. To trust Him and lean not on our own understanding. We may often find ourselves wanting the Lord to do things according to our timelines, but I am reminded time and time again that “the Lord is not slow concerning His promises…”.

Solomon says in the opening chapter of Ecclesiastes that there is nothing new under the sun. The cares of this world are not unique to us, they have been faced by those before us. We need to only wait as the Lord resolves them for us.

I have been learning to wait on Gods timing, just because it is not my turn to stand under the sun does not mean mine will not come. It is just merely somebody else’s “time and chance“.

So, brother or sister The Lord Will Come Through, let us put our trust and hope in Him. There is nothing He cannot do. He is able to do above and beyond what we think. Cling to this.

Can a mother forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely, she may forget, yet I will not forget you. See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; Your walls are continually before me.” Isaiah 49:15-16
