If you have been looking for a bucket hat that is easy and fast to make you have found it. This pattern uses one main stitch: the double crochet stitch. I hope you enjoy making this hat just as much as I enjoyed preparing this pattern.

Materials
Crochet Hook: 4mm
Yarn: Elle – Pure Gold Double knit, in the colour Aloe (100% soft acrylic)
Notions: darning needle, scissor

Abbreviations
sl st – slip stitch
ch – chain
ch 3 in – into the chain 3 space work a dc into that same chain 3 space, this counts as a 2dc
dc – double crochet
2dc – 2 double crochets into the same stitch (double crochet increase)
** – repeat for the rest of the row

Pattern
The pattern can be adjusted; if you would like to make the body of the hat, longer you would just add 1 or 2 more rows (after adding the brim it will be longer). If you would like for the ruffles on the brim to be more defined, instead of working 2dc, dc, dc, 2dc** you would 2dc, dc, 2dc, dc, 2dc**
The Body
Round 1: Begin by making a magic circle, ch , dc x 14, pull the tail end to close the circle, sl st into the top of the first dc
Round 2: ch 3 in, 2dc, 2dc**, sl st — 28 dc’s in total
Round 3: ch 3 in, dc, 2dc, dc, 2dc**, sl st — 42 dc’s in total
Round 4: ch 3 in, dc, dc, 2dc, dc, dc, 2dc**, sl st — 56 dc’s in total
Round 5: ch 3 in, dc, dc, dc, 2dc, dc, dc, dc, 2dc**, sl st — 70 dc’s in total
Round 6: ch 3 in, dcx13, 2dc, dcx13, 2dc**, sl st — 75 dc’s in total
Round 7-14: ch 3, dc, dc**, sl st — 75 dc’s in total
The Edge/Brim
Note: round 15 is worked into the front loops only! only the ch 3 in is worked into both loops
Round 15: ch 3 in, dc, dc, 2dc, dc, dc, 2dc** sl st
Note: for round 16-18 work into both loops
Round 16-19: ch 3 in, dc, dc, 2dc, dc, dc, 2dc** sl st
Round 20: sl st around
